Born in Izmir, Turkey, Arzu Salman grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina where she
received her primary dance training from Piedmont School of Music and Dance. She continued
her education at The Ailey School and Fordham University where she has received her BFA in
Dance with a minor in Communications in 2018. While dancing at The Ailey School, she
performed works such as Alvin Ailey’s Revelations and Night Creature, Jose Limon’s PSALM,
and ManMan by Clifton Brown. She participated in Robert Battle’s New Directions
Choreography lab where she performed works from Brice Mousset, Ephrat Asherie, Netta
Yerushalmy, and Juel D. Lane. She attended summer intensives such as Hubbard Street Dance
Chicago, The Juilliard School, and The San Francisco Conservatory. She has been featured in
music videos for Melody English as well as Sam Schall, and is a member of Monica Hogan
Danceworks. She looks forward to performing with Queens Ballet Center Company this season.
Meghann Padgett is a dancer, choreographer, and filmmaker based in New York City. She began her dance training in her hometown of Aiken, SC and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in dance from Columbia College in 2009. She has danced professionally with the Vibrations Dance Company, the Power Company, and the South Carolina Contemporary Dance Company, for which she performed Martha Graham’s Maple Leaf Rag under the direction of Miriam Barbosa. In 2013, Meghann became company assistant and dancer for Terrance Henderson’s T.O. Dance, Inc., through which she had the opportunity to perform Henderson’s original works nationally and internationally. In the Spring of 2018, Meghann earned her MFA in Dance Performance and Technology from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. While at Tisch, she performed in the central duet for a restaging of Paul Taylor's Promethean Fire, as well as in original works by faculty members Pam Pietro and James Martin. She currently creates her own choreographic and film work, and she produces promotional material for NYC-based dance companies, such as Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, Angie Moon Dance Theatre, Ryderdance, Dardo Galletto Dance, Valleto, and Gabrielle Johnson and Artists. Meghann also recently had the honor of dancing with Kate Harpootlian and Artists at the INSITU Dance Festival, and she looks forward to her new journey with Queens Ballet Center Dance Company this year.
David Lee Parker is a native from Long Island, New York. He started his dance training at Long Island High school for the Arts and continued his studies at Mason Gross School of the Arts where he graduated with honors and received his B.F.A. in dance performance. David has trained at the Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive, American Ballet Theater Summer Collegiate Program, Gibney Summer Contemporary Dance Program, and has had the privilege to study abroad for a year in Israel at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. He has performed works by Camille A. Brown, Netta Yerushalmy, Ohad Naharin, Noa Zuk, Reggie Wilson, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Noa Wertheim, and Maxine Doyle. He has also had the special opportunity to perform at the Suzanne Dellal Theatre in Tel Aviv and the Joyce Theatre in New York City. David is grateful and excited to be joining QBC Company for it's first season.
